Welcome! I hope you’re out on the beach or water today catching some rays.
Let me introduce myself. I come from a long line of farmers out of southwestern Virginia and central North Carolina. Growing up on a farm, you may ask, why on earth is this lady posting about Ocean Isle Beach and the Brunswick islands of North Carolina? Well, the easiest way to put it is… Jimmy Buffett and pirate movies stole my heart a long time ago. I think I listened to my first Jimmy Buffett
song and knew it by heart at the age of 5. I grew up riding horses and barrel racing competitively at rodeos but when we weren’t at a rodeo on the weekend, my Mom and Step-Dad would be taking me to beach music festivals from the Outer Banks all the way down to Savannah. The Tams, the Embers, Band of Oz, Chairman of the Board, The Drifters, I grew up seeing the best of the best when it comes to beach music in the Carolinas. When I was about 10 years old, my Mom, step-dad and their friends would shag and I was the beer holder. I was tired of that really quickly and figured out that if they taught me how to shag, I could dance with them and no more beer holding for me! I was drawn to the Carolina coast for my entire life. Luckily, 2 years ago we were given the opportunity to buy a second home. My first reaction was OCEAN ISLE BEACH!

Long story short, we now are in love and planning on moving permanently to be full time Ocean Isle Beach bums. I started this blog in hopes to help with learning about Ocean Isle Beach and the surrounding islands. This blog will be about business owners, history of the islands, as well as tips and tricks for beaching with kiddos, families and friends.
Stay Salty my friends!
